Starting a Crafty Business Part 1

*Please don't take this as what you HAVE to do. It's just what I AM doing. It may not be right or I may be genius, lol, only time will tell :)

So, I mentioned a few days ago that I was going to start an etsy shop. Having been in on starting my hubby's business, I have to say, so far this is a breeze. (I said SO FAR) It's a sole proprietorship so no pesky EINs.This book is fantastic If you are thinking of starting a crafty business.

I wanted to blog today about the graphic designer I used. I have worked with Caro of Calobee Doodles twice now. As well as having adorable prints, she also offers a custom doodle option. She responded to an etsy alchemy request for a blog banner I posted in April and I ADORE the result. It was just what I had imagined. So, when time came to think about etsy shop banners and cards, I knew I wanted a variation of that. Thankfully she agreed to work with me again. She came up with the perfect slight variations :)

Going Sew Crazy is gonna be....

an etsy shop! Yea! I am soo excited. I mentioned to my husband that I would like to start one and he VERY generously allowed me to have quite a bit of start up money! I am in the process of ordering business cards, starting accounts, etc. I am hoping to document the starting of here. I have some preview pics to share as well:

This month has been crazy! Kelsey got stung by a wasp the other night right on the outside corner of her eyelid. Her poor eye swelled closed! She had to get some shots, which she was not happy about, and ended up passing out bubbles at a wedding looking like she had went ten rounds with her sister and lost. It eventually got better and I took her to get her ears pierced, something she has been begging me to do. She didn't even flinch. She's so proud of them and loves to show them off:

Paige on the other hand got put in both the high achievement math and reading classes at her school. Her homework has doubled, but she's definitely not as bored as she was the first couple of weeks.

Here's Miss Smarty Pants herself, who loves to tell everyone she got into the "smart class"

I have also been playing with the new camera and Photoshop Elements. I love playing with pics and may have to get into digital scrapbooking. Know any good tutorials or freebies I need?
