Going Sew Crazy

Sleepy.

That pretty much sums things up with me lately. I am too sleepy to do anything. I have barely gotten on the web and my inbox definitely needs cleaning out after this past week. I have been sewing and crafting my butt off for Kelsey's party all week, but now it has to be postponed. Paige brought home some kind of "highly contagious skin rash". We went to the dr. yesterday and he said she can't go back to school until Monday. He also said it was very likely that Kelsey would get it too. Well she did. I hate to move her party back again, but it has to be done. It looks like I am set for a weekend with the rash twins. I gave in today and gave her the gifts I made. 

I mad this dollhouse inspired bag and some spool dolls to live in it. She always tries to steal a doll or two when I make them, so I thought she might like these:

And last but not least, Pupcake. The toy dog is probably her favorite.

Resolutions

One of my biggest crafty New Year's resolutions was to make hand make every gift we give this year. I have had 3 birthdays so far and have kept it so far. I made my mom some sugar scrub from this recipe.
This weekend we have 2 birthday parties and this is what I made:

I am gonna put some lip gloss and jewelry in the purse. It is for our almost 7 year old cousin.

The crayon roll is for 3 yr old. We are gonna add crayons and Spiderman coloring books.

K is four on Saturday. We usually take them to Chuck E. Hell on their birthday and give them their gift at their party. I still have a week to do all the birthday craftiness I have planned.

I have been working a bit on Project Improv (see more here)

I love when other people do wonky, but I didn't like doing it. Soo...I started over. This time I decided to just choose some random FQ's I had and start sewing thinking up what I wanted to do as I went along. This was really improv for me, a perennial planner. 

I started with the pink woodgrain/bird block. Then I added and added until this is what I have. I like it. I am really enjoying it as it is so off the cuff. The fabric combos are even random. I have a good idea what I want my charity block to look like, I hope to work on that tomorrow as well as add some more to this.

On the baby front, I went to the OB today. I am due in early September. We told the girls tonight and they were so excited. Kelsey was running in circles yelling "A baby! A baby! Yay!" We let them call various relatives and tell them the news. It was funny hearing their way of telling it. Thanks again for all the well wishes. I have been feeling fairly good besides having some sinus trouble and serious sleepiness, which is par for the course with me and pregnancy.

I always get so excited when there is a big turnout for a giveaway! Thank you all so very much! And thanks for all the congratulations I have received. I literally found out that day and should have more answers to all the questions tomorrow after my first OB appointment. I suck at keeping secrets, and we usually don't tell anyone until after the first dr's visit. I couldn't keep it in that long, though no one from our family reads my blog and I should be safe. The girls don't know yet either. We have been "hypothetically" asking them if they would want a baby. Kelsey says yes, Paige says only if it is a girl. LOL. We also received more wonderful news this past week. We made an offer on 58 acres of land right before the end of the year, and last week we found out our offer was accepted! Now I must pick out house plans! This part is hard. I think I have about 20 houses bookmarked that I love. Decisions, decisions!

I was very disappointed in how empty my living room looked minus all the Christmas decorations. I made a few new things for the shelf:

The two canvases were made by stretching some Anna Maria Horner fabric across a blank 10 x 10 canvas. 

The 'm' was something I had. I decoupaged it with some Amy Butler scrapbook paper.

I also made some new pillows for my couch:

Almost there....

..to a hundred that is. Tomorrow-if all goes well and the creek don't rise (please pardon the Southern expression) I will be posting my 100th post. I have a great giveaway so please be sure to check back. I love giveaways!

I have been so glad to be at home this week. Working for my husband last week made me truly appreciate all the wonderful-ness of staying at home. My crafty meter almost burst last week after nit having time to do anything. I have tried to make up for lost time though.

(My pictures are really awful, it has rained for like 4 days straight!)

I finished Paige's nap quilt. The binding seemed absolutely everlasting. The pattern is Jelly Filled. I didn't put the borders on because, well, I'm lazy. She adores it and was very patient during the making of it. 

Now that both of the girls have one, Brice has requested one for himself. I think I'll make him one for Valentine's Day. I have 2 cuts of Denyse Schmidt's patchwork promenade that I am thinking of using. 

I also made a couple of banners for Love Day for the shop. When I get better pictures I will list them. Hopefully the sun will shine tomorrow.
