I am so happy. Since the move I have sewn mostly quilt blocks & small swaps. But today I finished something for me! Finally! I feel so accomplished. I have been making a huge effort to be crafty every day. It makes me happier and a bit more relaxed. I have a huge amount of things to do everyday. I don't have a house cleaner, a babysitter, or anything fun like that. (The past two statements being true of most SAHM's & crafters in general) The bit of time I have to create something is precious to me and I try to enjoy every last bit of it. I may not have an overwhelming number of finished objects, but every little thing I finish feels like a triumph.
Today the triumph was this pillow:
I fell in love with the Joseph's Coat block when i saw it at Don't Look Now. She has a few posts detailing how to draft, cut, and applique them. (There's also a template here for those who don't ever want to see a compass again) I decided to make the template, but raw edge applique it to some Kona cotton. I love Hope Valley. It makes me happy. It measures 16 X 16. It feels like a huge accomplishment to me!
I also started on my Hoop Up & Send Swap inspiration piece.
My theme is the alphabet. One thing is for sure, these swaps are helping me do something everyday.
Have a great day ya'll!

Congratulations to having finished something, and something so beautiful. I know exactly how you feel. At the moment my kids are on vacation with the grandparents and finally I get some crafty things done!

It's beautiful - I do like the stripey border, too.
